How we built the Villa Tamerza pool
Dick and Gisela want to thank Seb, Olivier and Jean-Claude for their help with this project. In total it took about 14 days frantic work, from start to finish, tripping to and from France in 2003.

Andre Darre, a local contractor, dug a big hole for us to get us started and then Seb and Dick began laying the concrete base and the assembly of the wall panels - in the 40 degree heat during early July.

Above: Dick and Seb - the concrete has all been laid for the base but Dick's watch is missing ! A gold-reinforced pool base - no expense spared on this project.

8 o'clock in the morning and it's already starting to get hot!
Above: Once the concrete base had set, we built up the side panels ready to back-fill the hole. Just like a giant Meccano set, really.

The midday sun was starting to get hot - but work continues under the gazebo. The sacrifices we made for our summer guests that year!

The hole's back-filled and the concrete surround has been completed. It's time to fit the liner and start filling the pool.

One more trip to France so that Dick can lay the paving slabs, fit the steps and finish the plumbing and hey presto - one finished pool! And our visitors during July and August were extremely thankful. What a scorcher it was this summer!
